Are event submissions open?

2026 event submissions are closed. You can use the host and planning guides to prepare an event for a future edition.

What makes an event a good fit?

A clear audience, a compelling topic, and a reason to gather. We look for events that connect, educate, or inspire people and contribute to technology talent, investment, or adoption in Hawaii. Panels, workshops, product demos, and informal gatherings can all work.

Who covers the costs and logistics?

Hosts plan, fund, market, and run their own events. That includes the venue, staffing, registration, and any safety, insurance, or permit requirements. Co-hosting is an option for sharing the work and costs. HTW provides the shared calendar, visibility, and guidance.

Do we need to be based in Hawaii?

No. HTW welcomes organizations and leaders from elsewhere, with an emphasis on a connection to Hawaii. That might mean local employees or customers, returning kamaʻāina, investment, or other meaningful ties to the islands.

Is hosting the same as sponsoring Hawaii Tech Week?

They are different ways to participate. Hosts organize individual events. Hawaii Tech Week sponsors help fund the week’s shared programming and activities, with recognition and benefits defined by their sponsorship. You can also work with sponsors for your own event.
