These Terms & Conditions of Hawaii Tech Week LLC ("HTW," "we," "us") apply to your use of the HTW website, content, programming, memberships, and other HTW offerings; your registration for HTW communications; and your registration for or attendance at any event listed on the official HTW calendar. By using or engaging with any of these, you agree to the following:
By signing up for Hawaii Tech Week communications, or registering for, attending, or participating in any event listed on the HTW calendar, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
Hawaii Tech Week LLC is a media, marketing, and promotion company. HTW markets and promotes Hawaii Tech Week, curates an official event calendar, and produces content, programming, memberships, and other offerings for the local and global tech ecosystem. Events on the HTW calendar are created and hosted by independent Event Hosts from across that ecosystem. Each event is organized and operated by the Event Host identified on its listing. The independent Event Host is responsible for the planning, operation, staffing, supervision, participant safety, insurance, permits, and legal compliance of its event, and for any liability arising from it. Where HTW is identified as the host of an event, HTW acts as the Event Host for that event. Calendar placement, featured or sponsored placement, and an Event Host's use of HTW branding are marketing designations only; they do not mean HTW organizes, supervises, endorses, or assumes responsibility for an event hosted by others.
You acknowledge and agree that your attendance and participation in any event listed on the HTW calendar is at your own risk. Hawaii Tech Week LLC, its affiliates, sponsors, partners, volunteers, and agents (collectively "HTW Parties") shall not be held liable for any injuries, losses, damages, claims, or expenses of any kind arising from or related to your participation in any such event, whether hosted by HTW Parties or any third parties. Claims relating to an independently hosted event should be directed to its Event Host. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HTW Parties from any liability or claims made by yourself or others due to your participation in any such event.
Events during Hawaii Tech Week are created and hosted by independent Event Hosts from across the local and global tech ecosystem, and are intended for audiences 18 and older. Where an Event Host includes participants under 18 in their event, the Event Host is responsible for parent or guardian consent, supervision, and compliance with all applicable laws. Event registration is handled by each Event Host, not by HTW. HTW does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
By attending events listed on the HTW calendar, you consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded by HTW or its authorized representatives. You grant HTW the right to use your likeness, voice, and any statements you make in connection with these events for promotional, marketing, educational, or other business purposes without compensation or prior approval. This includes use in social media, websites, marketing materials, and other media. Event Hosts may also photograph, film, or record their own events under their own policies; HTW is not responsible for media captured by Event Hosts or other attendees.
All attendees are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully. HTW may decline or revoke access to events it hosts, the HTW calendar, and HTW communications for disruptive, inappropriate, or harmful behavior. Event Hosts control admission to their own events and may remove attendees at their discretion. This includes but is not limited to harassment, discrimination, illegal activities, or conduct that interferes with the event experience for others.
Content shared at events listed on the HTW calendar, including presentations, materials, and discussions, may be subject to intellectual property rights of the presenters or third parties. Attendees agree not to record, reproduce, or distribute such content without explicit permission from the content owner.
Each Event Host, including HTW for the events it hosts, may modify, reschedule, or cancel its own event, including due to circumstances beyond its control such as weather, venue issues, or public health concerns. HTW may add, update, or remove event listings on the HTW calendar at any time. Reasonable efforts will be made to notify registrants of changes, but HTW shall not be liable for any costs or damages resulting from changes or cancellations of any event.
HTW reserves the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to the official HTW website (hawaiitechweek.com/terms-conditions).
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Hawaii.
