Where Tech Meets Hawaii
HTW One-Liner
Hawaii Tech Week is an annual week of inspiring events where the local and global tech community connect to build relationships, level up, and create opportunity.
What is Hawaii Tech Week?
Hawaii Tech Week is an annual week of events where the local and global tech community comes together to build relationships, level up, and create opportunity.
Founders, investors, engineers, executives, and builders gather across 50+ events independently-hosted by leaders across the ecosystem, from panels and mixers to product launches and keynotes.
Our mission is to accelerate tech talent, capital, and adoption—to empower our people, grow Hawaii's economy, and build the future.

Traction
Hawaii Tech Week was officially launched on July 8th, 2024. See post. HTW has grown to a network (mailing list) of 4,500+ people. More than 3,000+ attend more than 50+ events held each year (120 to date), across 25+ unique venues annually.
Outcomes
Since Sep 2024, HTW has helped catalyze outcomes across our ecosystem. Here are a few of our favorites:
- Hawaii startups launching and raising their first angel checks
- Dozens of hires and internships across startups and industry
- Millions of dollars in venture and LP investments
- Tech nonprofits recruiting their founding Board of Directors
- Kama'aina abroad plugging into the local ecosystem
- Hundreds of thousands of impressions for Hawaii tech
- New mentors for Native Hawaiian STEM scholars
- Lifelong friendships and collaborations formed
Who Attends HTW?
Given the 'decentralized' and 'unconference' nature of HTW, we draw a diverse group of attendees that depend on the events hosted by the ecosystem. You can see the breakdown of people in our network by profile in our 2025 Report. General profiles include:
- Tech entrepreneurs & investors
- Tech professionals from engineers and executives to designers and content creators
- Hawaii industry
- Gov / policymakers
- Students and workforce dev
In addition to those based in Hawaii, the people we have visiting from other places include:
- Kama'aina working in technology in other tech hubs e.g. SF, SEA. They want to connect deeper with Hawaii's tech community, whether to plug in, move home, or give back.
- People in the tech industry who love Hawaii and either do business, travel frequently, or have a house in Hawaii. This allows them to visit, plug in, and build more connections.
- Companies who want to grow, gain access, or drive product or market entrance in Hawaii.
Our Story
HTW started as a way to bridge my friends in tech from Hawaii and San Francisco. The goal was to build relationships, level up, and create new opportunity. To showcase the best of Hawaii's tech ecosystem while learning from global leaders.
Within a year our network rapidly grew to 3,000+ people that includes founders building unicorns, investors deploying hundreds of millions in capital, engineers solving humanity's critical challenges, and students discovering their path into tech. We've seen startups funded, careers launched, and lifelong friendships formed—all against the backdrop of Honolulu's leading venues and Hawaii's volcanic mountains and turquoise waters.
While our base is and will continue to be rooted in Hawaii's tech community, we welcome those living around the world, from kama'aina abroad to those connected to our ecosystem, to join us annually for a week of connection, education, and inspiration. This isn't another tech conference; it's where tech meets Hawaii, and where the future of Hawaii + global tech comes to gather.
